Screen Casting

Screen Casting can be used to help teach students a new concept. It can be used to introduce a new topic or simply remind students about something. It is really great for teaching students how to you use technology. We all know students learn at a different rate so if a student feels comfortable with a topic then he or she can skip over a certain screen cast.

Below is an example of how I can use a screen cast video for my classroom. We use an on-line text book in 8th grade Social Studies. I can't even tell you the amount of times students have said, " I don't know how to access the book on-line", or " I don't know how to navigate through the website". Now my response can be, "Watch the video on our website".
